Financial > Funding > Business Angels
|

This term refers to investors who are willing to take a minority stake in your company in exchange for between £10,000 and, say, £200,000.
..............................................................................................................
Most will wish to play an active part in the running of your business (often on a part-time basis) and they may be willing to join with other business angels to form a consortium if more capital is needed.
These people usually have specific experience within the same sector that you are working in and so they will understand your business. That knowledge means they can see the potential that many banks miss and they also reach decisions quickly. However, they will be looking for a plan to get their capital back in 3 to 5 years time. Your business plan will need to show how you will afford to buy their stake back or alternatively sell the entire business.
Like any other presentation you will need to set out your own background, that of the company, the business achievements to date, the benefits that would flow from additional capital and the weaknesses that you recognise in your own management abilities to demonstrate your recognition of the benefits that the business angel can bring.
